As people age, their needs may change. They may need assistance staying in their home, or may need to plan for the costs of long term care, including Medicaid eligibility. Sometimes these needs are foreseeable, but sometimes they arise suddenly and unexpectedly. I am sensitive to the needs of elderly clients and their families. In addition to making sure that the basic estate planning documents are in place, I offer guidance in creating home-care agreements, planning for long term care costs, and using special needs trusts where appropriate. I apply legal knowledge and lessons learned from my personal experience, as well as from my position as past Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
